Terms & Conditions

Welcome to Custom Lithium. By accessing and using our website, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Nothing in this document excludes, restricts or modifies your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). 

1. Consumer Guarantees (Australian Consumer Law)

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). You are entitled to:

• a repair, replacement or refund for a major failure;

• a repair or replacement for goods that fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure; and

• compensation for any reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

Remedies under the ACL apply only where the issue arises from normal use. Custom Lithium is not responsible for issues caused by incorrect installation, vehicle manufacturer changes, incompatible third-party accessories, physical damage, neglect, or modification. Where a remedy is required, Custom Lithium will act within a reasonable timeframe and provide the appropriate solution as permitted by law.

 

2. Product Information, Accuracy & Specifications

We strive for accuracy in all product descriptions, specifications, imagery and dimensions listed on our website. 

However:

• manufacturers may update or vary components without notice 

Colours may vary slightly from what appears on the website

• minor discrepancies may occur in product dimensions 

Handmade Variation Clause:

Custom Lithium battery systems are hand-built and individually assembled. As a result:

• minor variations in size, finish, labels and appearance may occur 

• measurements listed online are accurate to the best of our knowledge, but small tolerances should be expected 

These do not affect performance or safety and are not considered defects under warranty unless they materially impact function. If your installation requires precise tolerances, please contact us prior to purchase.

 

3. Payments and Currency

• All prices listed on our website are in AUD and include GST (where applicable) 

• We accept only the payment methods displayed at checkout 

• Orders will not be processed until payment is cleared 

• Custom Lithium does not accept cheque payments 

 

4. Order Processing & Lead Times

• Orders are processed in the order they are received 

• Estimated lead times are provided as a guide only 

• Delays may occur during peak sales periods or for custom-built items 

• Custom Lithium is not liable for delays arising from freight carriers or external factors 

 

5. Change of Mind Policy

• We do not accept change-of-mind returns 

• Please ensure you review product dimensions, application suitability, and compatibility prior to purchase 

• Our team is available to provide guidance before ordering 

 

6. Fitment & Compatibility Advisory (4WDs, Caravans, RVs)

Manufacturers of 4WDs, caravans, motorhomes and camper trailers frequently make changes between year models or mid-production. These may include changes to:

• chassis layouts 

• mounting hole locations 

• wiring routes or loom placement 

• fuse panel locations 

• battery compartments 

• cabinetry or appliance layout 

These variations:

• occur without industry notification 

• may impact installation or compatibility 

• are outside Custom Lithium's control 

Where fitment variances occur:

• Custom Lithium will update designs as soon as practicable 

• customers and installers are responsible for verifying measurements and compatibility prior to installation 

Manufacturer design changes can affect fitment requirements and are not considered product defects. Where Custom Lithium has stated compatibility for a model or year, we will determine an appropriate ACL remedy. In some cases, engineering updates or redesigned components may be required and may take time to produce.

 

7. Warranty Process

To lodge a warranty claim:

• email warranty@customlithium.com.au 

• provide order number, photos/videos, diagnostic results, and a detailed description. Proof of purchase is required for all warranty claims.

Warranty exclusions:

Products must be used only for their intended purpose as outlined in our product manual. Damage caused by:

• misuse, incorrect charging systems, overloading, exposure to excessive heat, water ingress, or unsuitable environments

• damage from incorrect wiring or unsuitable chargers 

• damage caused by third-party accessories 

• water ingress, physical impact, or neglect 

is not covered by warranty unless required by the ACL. Products must not be opened, modified or tampered with unless authorised.

 

8. Return Shipping & Refunds

For faulty product warranty returns:

• reasonable return freight costs may be reimbursed 

• refunds apply to the product price only 

For discretionary (non-faulty) returns:

• return freight is the customer’s responsibility 

• shipping costs are non-refundable 

• restocking fees may apply 

Customers must safely package returned goods to prevent transit damage.

 

9. Delivery Timeframes

• Delivery timeframes provided at checkout are estimates only. Delays may occur due to courier workload, remote location, peak trading periods, severe weather, or factors outside Custom Lithium’s control.

• If a parcel is returned due to incorrect address, refusal to accept delivery, or multiple failed delivery attempts, reshipping fees may apply.

 

10. Online Conduct/Abusive Behaviour Clause

• Custom Lithium reserves the right to refuse service, cancel orders, or terminate communication where a customer engages in abusive, threatening, or aggressive behaviour toward staff, in accordance with applicable laws

 

11. Exchanges

Exchanges may be approved if products are:

• unused 

• in original condition 

• in original packaging 

Custom-made products cannot be exchanged unless faulty. Non-faulty exchanges are at the discretion of Custom Lithium.

 

10. Limitation of Liability

• To the extent permitted by law, Custom Lithium is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, including downtime, labour costs, loss of income, or travel expenses.

 

11. Installation Requirements

• We recommend all batteries be installed by a qualified auto electrician experienced with lithium technology.

• All installations must follow the instructions and safety requirements set out in the relevant Custom Lithium product manual. Installation quality is the responsibility of the installer. Custom Lithium is not liable for labour costs, reinstallation, diagnosis fees, or vehicle damage caused by incorrect installation, failure to follow the product manual, or the use of incompatible third-party components may result in damage that is not covered by warranty.

• Vehicle modifications may be required depending on model variances, custom builds, or vehicle-specific battery locations.

12. Privacy & Data Handling

• We collect and store customer information for order processing and support 

• We do not sell or share customer data with third parties except where required for shipping or legal compliance 

• Custom Lithium is not responsible for loss of user data, app settings, or custom configurations.

 

13. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
